This April, Analytics FC announced an exciting partnership with leading Allsvenskan team AIK Fotboll. The partnership would see Analytics FC support AIK with the development of a unique and exclusive concept, the AIK Innovation Hub.
Now, AIK’s Head of Football Strategy, Jeremy Steele, has given an update on how AIK’s partnership with Analytics FC is having a tangible impact on scouting (finding talent), recruitment (assessing whether that talent fits the AIK model and can deliver financial value over time), and performance reviews (on and off the pitch).
In the video below from AIK+, Jeremy takes viewers through how data is being integrated at a strategic level throughout the club, driving decision-making, improving outcomes, and adding value to departments across the football club.
For example, Jeremy explains how data scouting can facilitate AIK’s strategic objective of becoming the number one club in Scandinavia for the use of data in scouting by reducing risks, improve the breadth of markets being assessed, finding top talent, and improving the team in the short and long term.
Using the example of Axel Kouame, recently signed from Veikkausliiga team FC Inter Turku, Jeremy and Recruitment Manager Fredrik Wisur Hansen show how a combination of data scouting, using Analytics FC’s TransferLab platform, and video scouting found the player and assessed his abilities.
In addition, Jeremy talks about a number of other applications of data, including modelling the impact of a player joining the club on the team’s win probability, age curve projections, and player valuation modelling and return on investment modelling, as well as using data to monitor playing style.
