THE CHALLENGE
Despite a desire to stay with Manchester City, Alex Greenwood wanted a contract that reflected her talents and worth, and also demonstrated the growth of women’s football.
She approached her agency, REPT Sports, and Analytics FC to help her create a unique data report to show and quantify her contribution and value.
OUR APPROACH
To create the report, Analytics FC analysed performance data on the field and market data off the field.
The data showed that Greenwood’s contribution as a defender was peerless in the Women’s Super League and also among male players in the top five European leagues.
The report also compared Greenwood’s performance to that of other players in the WSL and assessed the financial cost of replacing her in her the team, factoring in the fast pace of growth in the Women’s game.
THE RESULT
The report provided compelling evidence that Greenwood was a valuable player, with unrivalled contributions to Manchester City.
She eventually signed a significantly more lucrative new three-year contract with the club.
