Analytics FC partnered with the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) to create a course aimed at equipping students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in the field of football data analysis.
Creating a comprehensive curriculum that meets the needs of a diverse group of students was a challenging task.
The target audience for the workshop was diverse and included active and former players, coaches, sport directors, agents, football broadcasters, and journalists.
Analytics FC invested considerable time and effort in defining the target audience and identifying the areas of data analytics that would be most relevant to them.
The curriculum aimed to simplify the often complex world of football data analysis, improve students’ ability to interpret data, communicate insights, and use real-life examples to ground their learning in practice.
The content for the modules was created by a team of experts with real-world experience in the field of football data analysis, including club data scientists, sporting directors, agents, and data-journalists.
The workshop syllabus was relevant and grounded in real-world scenarios, touching upon data analytics across a range of football use-cases.
By exploring various use-cases, students were able to develop an understanding of how data can be applied to real-world situations in football.
The workshop equipped students with the knowledge and skills necessary to confidently use data in their day-to-day work in professional football.
